STATE : Chest Pains Sideline Belafonte

SAN JOSE —
Singer Harry Belafonte was admitted to Good Samaritan Hospital today after experiencing chest pains in his hotel room, a hospital administrator said.
Belafonte, 63, was admitted for tests at 6 a.m. after being transferred from nearby Los Gatos Community Hospital, where his condition was assessed by a cardiologist, said administrator Truman Gates.
Belafonte became ill in his hotel room after a concert at a local winery.
