From Times wire services

Ford Motor Co. said today it is recalling about 110,000 1989-90 model E- and F-Series pickup trucks to inspect and, if necessary, replace a snap ring in the transmission.

In some cases where the snap ring has broken, Ford said, it may not be possible to engage the “park” mechanism even though the transmission shift control level is in the “park” position.

If the parking brake is not engaged, vehicles experiencing this condition may roll when parked on an incline, the company said. All other transmission functions will remain normal.
