Ventura Freeway Lanes, Ramps to Be Closed

Share

The state Department of Transportation has announced that construction-related lane, ramp and connector road closures will continue this weekend on the Ventura Freeway between Coldwater Canyon and Haskell avenues.

Caltrans advises motorists to avoid those areas of the Ventura and San Diego freeways throughout the weekend and to instead use city streets, particularly Burbank and Ventura boulevards.

The eastbound Woodman Avenue, eastbound Tujunga Avenue and westbound Coldwater Canyon Avenue off-ramps will be closed from 10 p.m. today to 5 a.m. Monday.

In addition, crews will close the northbound San Diego Freeway connector to the westbound Ventura Freeway from 10 p.m. to 11 a.m. today and Saturday. During those same hours, up to two westbound lanes between Haskell Avenue and Van Nuys Boulevard will also be closed, Caltrans said.

The closures are part of a $62-million project to widen the Ventura Freeway from Universal City to Agoura Hills. When the project is completed in early 1992, the freeway will be 10 lanes wide from the Lankershim Boulevard interchange to Topanga Canyon Boulevard in Woodland Hills.
