Redistricting Defense

So our four pro-developer council members walked out of the redistricting council meeting. Their stacked advisory board recommendations would eliminate council district seats of Bob Filner and Linda Bernhardt. Didn’t they expect another map to be offered, or did they think Linda and Bob would just roll over and vanish with a smile?

I hope San Diegans recognize the unfairness of the advisory board recommendations and demand a fairer course for this city. It really looks like the City Council 1991 elections will have to find candidates who can behave with a more cooperative spirit than Council Members Judy McCarty, Bruce Henderson and Ron Roberts have shown in 1990.
