Opening of Library-Museum Returns Nixon to Limelight

So now we have the new, fully rehabilitated Richard Nixon. Has anyone noticed that this new model is very much like the old one? First, under his direction the library was going to be restricted just to those who were sympathetic to the Nixon view, and then, second, the press was going to be prohibited from observing the first day ceremonies at the Nixon Library. Only after understandable and justifiable complaints were these two policies changed.

These views represent just the things that resulted in Watergate and all the many things that episode stood for, namely a contempt for the very freedoms that have made this country what it is.

(Nixon) was suspicious and slightly paranoid to the end, and one wonders what he still has to conceal that compels him even now to try to hide from the revealing light that comes from a free people seeking the truth.
