The Soviet Bolshoi Ballet will appear in seven performances at the San Diego Civic Theatre from Aug. 21-26. The troupe’s weeklong stay is part of the company’s first American tour since the 1960s. While the 56 dancers are here, they will perform recent productions of “Giselle” and “Swan Lake,” two of the greatest full-length Russian ballets in the repertory.

On opening night, Aug. 21, “Swan Lake” will star Nina Ananiashvili as Odette/Odile and Alexei Fadeyechev as Prince Siegfried. The performance begins at 8 p.m.

On Aug. 22, Nina Semizorova and Yuri Vasyuchenko will appear in the same roles, and on Aug. 23, Ludmila Semenyaka and Alexei Fadeyechev will star. All performances begin at 8 p.m.

Nina Semizorova and Mark Peretokin will play the roles Aug. 26 at 3 p.m.
