Kennedy Vandal: A man apparently obsessed with Marilyn Monroe called police and claimed responsibility for spray-painting graffiti on a newly dedicated statue of President John F. Kennedy, Boston officials said Monday. The vandalism, discovered Sunday, included a white splotch of spray paint on the forehead of the 8-foot bronze statue and the word murderer on the memorial’s granite base. The defacing occurred on the 28th anniversary of the actress’s death. Monroe has been linked romantically to Kennedy in some published reports in recent years.
