Share

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man responsible for a string of rapes and assaults.

Six women between the ages of 57 and 85 have been attacked, Fullerton Police Sgt. Don Kimbro said. The most recent assault occurred Friday. The first was July 17.

Kimbro said the suspect is described as a Latino with short black hair, a medium complexion and a thin mustache. He is said to be 20 to 30 years old, 5 feet, 5 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and weighing 130 to 150 pounds.

All the victims reported that the man spoke with a slight accent and wore casual clothes such as jeans, T-shirts, tank tops, shorts and tennis shoes. During some of the assaults, cash and property were stolen, Kimbro said.

All of the victims lived in older apartment complexes in an area bordered by Commonwealth Avenue, Raymond Avenue, Chapman Avenue and State College Boulevard. The attacks took place between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

The suspect apparently entered the victims’ apartments either through an unlocked window or door, Kimbro said. However, in one incident, the suspect forced his way through an opened door after knocking.

So far, there have been no reports of a weapon used, but the man struck two of the victims with his fist.

Anyone with information about the attacks is asked to call the Fullerton Police Department at (714) 738-6781 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. After hours, call (714) 738-6800.
