Justice Turner Nominated to Head 2nd District
Gov. George Deukmejian nominated Justice Paul Turner of Culver City to become presiding justice of the 2nd District Court of Appeal, and elevated three other judges to state appellate courts this week.
Turner, 42, will replace Presiding Justice Campbell Lucas, who is retiring at the end of the year. Lucas is the brother of state Chief Justice Malcolm Lucas.
The Republican governor named Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Margaret Grignon to fill Turner’s seat on the Court of Appeal, and nominated Sacramento County Superior Court Judges George Nicholson and Vance Raye to the Sacramento-based 3rd District Court of Appeal.
