The U.S. State Department has established a 24-hour hot line for people seeking information about the safety of American relatives in Kuwait and Iraq, according to Rep. Bill Lowery (R-San Diego).
The number is (202) 647-6310.
Callers are advised to let the phone ring several times because the number is expected to be used heavily.
