From Times staff and Wire reports

A group of workers at the City of Hope Medical Center in Duarte won the $43-million jackpot in the weekend California Lottery “Lotto 6-53” game, a hospital spokesman said. Seventeen employees of the medical records department were “quietly celebrating,” said Charles Mathews, a hospital spokesman. One ticket from their pool had all six of the winning numbers. “They have to do a lot of accounting work,” he said. “The money has to be divided 17 ways, but in different shares because some people bought more tickets than others.”
