SIDELINES : Orlando Magic Signs Kite
The Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Assn. have signed veteran center Greg Kite, an unrestricted free agent who played in Sacramento last year.
Kite, 6 feet, 11 inches tall, 250 pounds, signed a 1-year contract for about $500,000, according to team sources who refused to be identified. The Magic did not disclose terms.
The Orlando team, uneasy over center Dave Corzine’s slow recovery from knee surgery seven months ago, had been shopping for someone to fill the void that plagued the team all last season.
