7 Killed in Gun Battle With Philippine Rebels

TACLOBAN, Philippines —
Communist rebels ambushed a police jeep in the central Philippines on Friday, killing a 13-year-old boy. Police fought back and killed six guerrillas, police officials said.
Four police officers and two rebels were wounded in the 30-minute gun battle near Tacloban, 350 miles southeast of Manila.
