Comedian Pat Paulsen’s winery and village in Sonoma County have been seized by the Internal Revenue Service for auction next month to recover back taxes, according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat. The newspaper reported that the sale is to recover $277,000 in federal income taxes owed for 1985 and 1986. The 55-acre vineyard property--including a tasting room, three houses, a delicatessen, a wine museum and a water tower--was put up for sale for $2.5 million three years ago when Paulsen and his wife filed for divorce after 28 years of marriage. The comedian’s lawyer, David Replogie, challenged the proposed auction and said he will seek a court injunction if the IRS tries to sell the property.
