Marion Barry’s Trial and Black Leadership
- Share via
After the verdict was announced in the Barry trial, a juror being interviewed made the incredible statement, “The government was trying to prosecute the man for things he did in his personal life. If Mr. Barry chooses to use cocaine in his personal life, that’s his business, and not the government’s.” Zounds! Didn’t the judge explain the law to the jury, that using cocaine is unlawful and illegal, in “personal life” or otherwise?
What in the world is happening to our judicial system when uncomprehending simpletons are allowed on juries? Scary!
