THE SIDELINES : Falcons’ Linebacker Bruce Hurt
Atlanta Falcons linebacker Aundray Bruce was injured in an automobile accident Thursday afternoon but said he believed that he would be able to play in Saturday’s exhibition game with the Green Bay Packers in Milwaukee.
Police said Bruce’s car was struck on the front passenger side by another car on Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth.
Bruce complained of neck pain and arm injuries after the accident. He was treated for his injuries at Gwinnett Medical Center and released Thursday night, a nursing supervisor said.
Police said Bruce’s injuries probably would have been worse if the air bag in his car had not activated.
Bruce said he believed that he was well enough to play against the Packers.
