Picus Asks Reward in UCLA Student’s Death

Share

Los Angeles City Councilwoman Joy Picus has asked the City Council to establish a $15,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the killer of Ronald Baker, a 21-year-old UCLA student who was found stabbed to death in Chatsworth Park two months ago.

Police said Baker was last seen June 21 at a bus stop at Victory and Van Nuys boulevards in Van Nuys.

Baker often went to the park to meditate.

Investigators believe that someone may have seen the man before his death.

“We’re just hoping that with the offer of the reward someone might come forward with the information that we need,” said Detective Frank Garcia.

The council is expected to vote on Picus’ request Tuesday.
