Car Driver Dies in Crash With Tractor-Trailer

A motorist was killed and two others suffered minor injuries when a tractor-trailer truck and a car collided on the Golden State Freeway in Sun Valley Friday night, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The truck landed on top of the car in the northbound lanes near Hollywood Way shortly after 8 p.m., authorities said.
A Corvette “lost control and spun out in front of a semi-truck and trailer carrying a load of bricks,” said CHP Officer Dean Gustafson.
The Corvette hit the center divider and caught fire, then the truck hit the divider and ran up over the car. The unidentified driver of the Corvette was killed, but his passenger and the driver of the truck escaped with minor injuries.
