A 16-day international festival of more than 150 events that features artists from 21 countries and across the United States, with more than 900 from Southern California. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster, or call the Los Angeles Festival, (213) 689-8800. Following are events taking place this week in the South Bay.

Angels Gate/Point Fermin Park--Music, dance and other performances by artists from around the Pacific. The festival’s Opening Ceremonies will take place Saturday at Angels Gate and nearby Point Fermin Park. In the morning, the artists will gather at the Korean Bell for a blessing beginning with Native American prayer. After a procession down the hill joined by Chinese, Hawaiian, Tongan, Japanese, Samoan and gospel musicians, all the groups will arrive at Point Fermin Park for an afternoon of song, dance and invocation. Evening dancing to salsa performed by the Rudy Regalado and Chevere band. Opening ceremonies on Saturday, other events on Sunday. Free.

‘Zero Plus One’-- Featuring Seiji Kunishima’s granite sculptures and Mari Omori’s drawings. (Palos Verdes Art Center/Backstrand Gallery, 5504 W.

‘Australian Aboriginal Program 1’--Film and video series about aboriginal culture. (Warner Grand Theater, 478 W. 6th St., San Pedro). Saturday and Sunday: 7 p.m., $10 general admission.

‘California Original Program 2’--Visionary cinema of Pat O’Neill. (Warner Grand Theater, 478 W. 6th St., San Pedro). Sunday: 2 p.m., $7 general admission.

‘Mana Waka’ with the Queen of Maori--New Zealand documentary about Maori war canoes, with a traditional blessing to be offered by the Maori queen. (Warner Grand Theater, 478 W. 6th St., San Pedro). Sunday: 8 p.m., $7 general admission.

Pan-Indian Pow Wow--Hundreds of musicians and dancers. (Point Fermin Park’s Band Shell). Sunday: free admission.

Korean-American Painters--Paintings by four artists from California whose aesthetic roots connect to Oriental calligraphic traditions. (Angels Gate Cultural Center, 3601 S. Gaffey St., San Pedro). Saturday and Sunday: reception on Saturday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., free admission.
