Woman, 84, Stabbed to Death in Her Home
Police on Wednesday were continuing to investigate the stabbing death of an 84-year-old Inglewood woman whose body was discovered in her home by a neighbor who became concerned after the woman failed to show up for a neighborhood watch meeting Monday.
The neighbor found Sadie Hancock in her nightgown on her dining room floor Monday night, said Inglewood Police Department spokesman Sgt. Harold Moret. The single-family house in the 8700 block of 7th Avenue was not ransacked and police have no motives or suspects for the killing, Moret said.
Hancock, who apparently lived alone, was last seen alive on Saturday by the same neighbor who later discovered her body, police said. The neighbor entered Hancock’s house through an unlocked door.
