Sheriff’s investigators on Friday were looking for clues in the death of a Rosemead man whose body was found by a pedestrian Thursday morning.
Avelardo Martinez, 26, had one gunshot wound to the upper chest, Deputy Rich Erickson said. Martinez was found dead at the bottom of a 12-foot embankment in the 7100 block of Mooney Drive in South San Gabriel. He was clad only in his underwear. An autopsy has not been performed yet, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said.
