Police Arresting the Homeless

Share

That Legal Aid Society of Santa Ana is at it again! The Santa Ana police roust 64 “homeless” (or “vagrants, bums and panhandlers,” depending on your point of view), and the Legal Aid people accuse the Boys in Blue of Gestapo tactics because the preferred method of identification was a “magic marker” number on the forearm. I just wonder how else to quickly contain a large crowd of apparently dirty, uncooperative and uncommunicative prisoners?

As a federal employee who spends more waking hours at the Civic Center than at my home, I am fearful of the panhandlers, the mentally disturbed, the junkies, the trash and defecation, the purse-snatchings, the car thefts, the robberies and the rapes that are daily life at Santa Ana Civic Center Plaza.

Most surprising is that the Legal Aid kids ignore that 36% of those detainees are lawbreakers, either of outstanding warrants or immigration law. And the other 64% were ticketed for inappropriate public behavior.
