1 Killed, 1 Wounded in Robbery Attempt
A 33-year-old man who refused to give up his wallet was shot to death and his brother was wounded during a confrontation with three robbers in Watts early Saturday, Los Angeles police said.
Fidel Garcia was killed and his brother, Jacinto, 25, was seriously wounded after being hit by bullets fired by at least one of the robbers. The suspects fled without taking anything, police said.
The shooting occurred at 111th Street and Compton Avenue.
