Transvestite Killed By Car Is Identified
The county medical examiner’s office has identified a transvestite who was hit and killed Tuesday by a car.
Donald Pierce, a 36-year-old transient, was the fourth transvestite to die violently in San Diego County since June, a spokeswoman for the office said.
Pierce was struck by a station wagon in the 3800 block of University Avenue about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Just before the incident, a passenger reportedly got out of the vehicle and confronted Pierce. A fight then broke out.
Meanwhile, the car apparently circled the block, picked up speed and hit both men.
Pierce was trapped under the station wagon and dragged for about half a block, police said.
San Diego police have made no arrests in the case and are looking for the driver and the passenger, spokesman Bill Robinson said.
