SHORT TAKES : ABC Signs Salinger to New Pact

Pierre Salinger has signed a new contract for three more years with ABC News.
He will remain in London with the dual jobs of chief foreign correspondent and senior editor, Europe.
Salinger, who was press secretary to President John F. Kennedy and served briefly as a U.S. senator from California, joined ABC News in 1977 and has spent most of his time in Paris and London for the network, winning a shelf-full of awards along the way.
