Bob Jamieson has resigned as executive vice president of Polygram Holdings Inc., the New York-based music concern that is 80% owned by Polygram N.V. in the Netherlands. He will become an outside consultant to the holding company, whose subsidiaries include Polygram Records, A&M; Records and Island Entertainment Group.

The Polygram announcement came a day after former RCA Records executive vice president Rick Dobbis joined Polygram Records, reportedly to direct a restructuring involving the label’s marketing, sales distribution and promotion units.

Alain Levy, Jamieson’s boss who was recently selected to become president and chief executive of Polygram’s worldwide music group, said that he had no plans to fill Jamieson’s position. Polygram Records is reportedly in the midst of separating its Mercury and Polydor operations into free-standing labels.
