Obituaries : Betty Seidl; Longtime Reseda Resident

Betty Seidl, a homemaker and 31-year resident of Reseda, has died in Northridge. She was 96.

Mrs. Seidl died Tuesday of natural causes, said her son, Otto Seidl.

She was born Betty Eisenschenk on March 3, 1894, in Hautzendorf, Germany, and in 1919 married Frank Seidl. In 1924, they settled in Chicago. He died in 1945 and she moved to Reseda in 1959.

Mrs. Seidl was a longtime member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Reseda and frequently played pinochle with a card group at the Reseda Recreation Center.

She is survived by her son, Otto Seidl of Broken Arrow, Okla.; daughters Mary Sather of Laguna Hills and Barbara Clifford of Camarillo; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 18115 Sherman Way in Reseda. Burial will be on Monday in Chicago. J.T. Oswald Mortuary in Reseda is handling the arrangements.
