THE SIDELINES : Oakland Coliseum May Seek Aid
Officials of the Oakland/Alameda County Coliseum may turn to the city to help pay for the failed campaign to become the Raiders’ new home.
The Coliseum estimates that it spent at least $2.2 million wooing the Raiders, who decided this week to remain in Los Angeles. And Coliseum President George Vukasin said Thursday that costs for geological surveys and consultants’ fees have not yet been added.
Estimates run as high was $4 million, too high for the Coliseum to shoulder alone, Vukasin said.
