ORANGE : Study Session to Be Held on Land-Use
Residents and business owners concerned about land-use changes for the Cypress Street neighborhood and Santa Fe Railroad area are invited to a study session Sept. 26 at City Hall.
In the Cypress Street neighborhood, bounded by Cypress and Olive streets and Palm and Rose avenues, current zoning allows multiple-family units. The city’s general plan, however, designates the area as low to medium density. The result is confusion by property owners over how they may develop their lots.
The vacant Santa Fe Depot area, bounded by Chapman and Palm avenues and Pixley and Lemon streets, currently is zoned for light industry. The city proposes to change the zoning to residential and recreational open space, with limited business use.
The study session will be held at 7 p.m. in the council chambers. The next public hearing on the changes is set for the regularly scheduled council meeting on Oct. 9.
