Meadow Star Stays Unbeaten
NEW YORK —
Meadow Star remained unbeaten in five career starts, the last four in stakes, in beating Verbasle by six lengths in Sunday’s $155,400 Matron Stakes at Belmont Park.
Meadow Star, ridden by Jose Santos, covered the mile in 1:36 and paid $2.40, $2.10 and $2.10.
Verbasle finished three lengths ahead of Clark Cottage, followed by Makin Faces, Really Quick and Prayerful Miss.
