A 44-year-old transient was arrested Thursday in connection with the stabbing death of another transient whose body was found in a vacant lot four months ago, police said.

The suspect, identified as Edward Schooler, was arrested by the Long Beach Marine Department at the Marina Pacifica Mall on Pacific Coast Highway, police said.

Details of the stabbing, or Schooler’s alleged involvement, were not released by police.

The body of Daniel Leroy McCullough, 29, was found with at least one stab wound to the chest on May 30 in a lot on the northwest corner of Pacific Coast Highway and 1st Street in Seal Beach, police said.
