FAIRPLEX : Gold Crest Express Wins Juvenile Stakes
Gold Crest Express raced to the front away from the gate and romped to a 3 1/2-length victory over Truly Royal in the $150,000 Barretts Juvenile Stakes Thursday at Fairplex Park.
With Ron Hansen in the saddle, Gold Crest Express returned $10.20 after covering 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:17 4/5. Highland Avenue was another half-length back in third in the field of 10 2-year-old colts and geldings. Favored Running House stumbled and finished seventh.
In today’s feature, riding champion Laffit Pincay makes his 1990 debut at Fairplex Park, riding Something Comfy in the $53,900 CTBA Marian Stakes for fillies and mares at 1 1/16 miles.
