A teen-age driver accused of murder in the gang-related, drive-by shooting of another teen-ager will go on trial Nov. 26.

Lawrence Rowe, 18, of Rancho Penasquitos, is charged with the Nov. 18, 1989, slaying of Raymond Jose, 17, who was shot at a taco shop in Mira Mesa.

The actual gunman, Michael Mizicko, 20, also of Rancho Penasquitos, was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced in July to 20 years to life in state prison.

A passenger, DeVon Brumfield, 18, of Rancho Penasquitos also has been charged with murder.

While Rowe has been ordered to stand trial as an adult, Brumfield is being tried in Juvenile Court. Both were 17 at the time of the shooting.

Rowe pleaded innocent Friday to the murder charge in San Diego Superior Court. Judge Jesus Rodriguez set the trial date.

Bail of $150,000 for Rowe was not changed Friday. He remains in County Jail downtown.
