AN UNMATCHED PERE

I was surprised at the misinformation in Jeff Silverman’s review of John Buckley’s “Statute of Limitations” (Sept. 9).
Perhaps it can be explained by his remark, “I’ve spent half a lifetime shielding myself from the Yahoo world view of Citizen William F. Buckley.”
Though Silverman is somewhat right on John Buckley’s political activities, he is dead wrong that John is the son of William F. Buckley. (How did this get by the Book Review editors?)
I have sent the review on to Bill Buckley and know he will be interested to find he has a second son and that, to quote Silverman, “Buckley fils writes a helluva lot better than Buckley pere. “ (Silverman is not referring to Buckley’s only son, Christopher.)
