Spain’s Martinez Sweeps Into Final

PARIS —
Conchita Martinez of Spain defeated fourth-seeded Julie Halard of France, 6-1, 6-2, Saturday to advance to the final of a $150,000 women’s tournament.
Martinez, seeded No. 1, will face Patricia Tarabini of Argentina, who upset Sandra Cecchini of Italy, 6-4, 7-5. Cecchini was the defending champion and seeded second.
Martinez is ranked 10th in the world.
