Kings Beat Penguins With Power Plays

The Kings scored two power-play goals in the second period and went on to beat the Pittsburgh Penguins, 4-1, in an NHL exhibition game Monday night.

Veteran defenseman Larry Robinson scored with a 15-foot shot from the slot, assisted by Tomas Sandstrom and Rob Blake, at 8:14 of the second period.

The Kings made it 2-0 before a Houston Summit crowd of 10,413 when they had a two-man advantage, and Sandstrom punched a shot in from the goal mouth at 10:21.

The Kings made it 3-0 with an unassisted short-handed goal by Brad Jones at 8:54 of the third period. Luc Robitaille scored the Kings’ final goal in the third period.

John Cullen scored for Pittsburgh.
