NEW YORK — Her marriage to Andrew Lloyd Webber may be over, but Sarah Brightman will continue to work for the man who composed the music for such long-running Broadway hits as “Cats” and “The Phantom of the Opera.”
The actress will join the cast of Lloyd Webber’s latest Broadway musical, “Aspects of Love,” in early December to play the leading role of Rose.
“Sarah Brightman and I have always stated that we hope to continue our professional relationship,” Lloyd Webber said in a statement released Tuesday.
Brightman, Lloyd Webber’s second wife, originated the role of Christine in the London and New York productions of “The Phantom of the Opera.” Before joining the New York cast of “Aspects,” she will perform in a concert tour of “The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber” from Oct. 8 through Nov. 4.
Lloyd Webber announced in July that he was ending his six-year marriage to Brightman and that he had become close friends with a 27-year-old businesswoman, Madeleine Gurdon.
