Trimedyne Gets OK for Laser Test: The Tustin biotech firm said the Food and Drug Administration cleared it to conduct human tests of its Holmium cold laser system to clear clogged heart arteries as an alternative to bypass surgery. Its stock rose 37.5 cents a share to $2.25 in over-the-counter trading on the news.
