PRO FOOTBALL REPORT / WEEKDAY UPDATE : RAIDERS : Ryan Has a Future With Bears
Former USC defensive tackle Tim Ryan, drafted in the third round last April, has been converted to defensive end by the Chicago Bears, the Raiders’ opponents Sunday in the Coliseum. Ryan plays behind Richard Dent, the Bears’ all-time sack leader.
“We think the world of Tim Ryan,” Bear Coach Mike Ditka said. “He’s our kind of football player. He’s going to play some and he’ll get better.”
Injury update: Raider linebackers Aaron Wallace (bruised shoulder) and Riki Ellison (hip), safety Mike Harden (neck), cornerback Terry McDaniel (ankle) and tight end Andy Parker (shoulder) are all listed as probable.
After putting running back Mark Green on the injured-reserve list with a sprained left knee, the Bears signed running back Lars Tate, who was waived by Tampa Bay last month.
