Man Crushed Under His Car
A 34-year-old Lancaster man was crushed and killed under his own car in a freak accident in Lancaster on Friday, sheriff’s deputies said.
The accident occurred at 5:40 p.m. at Avenue J and 20th Street West. The victim was driving a Volkswagen station wagon northbound on 20th Street West when he made a left turn onto Avenue J “right into the path of a car traveling eastbound on Avenue J,” Lt. David Collin said.
The man was thrown from the car and killed when the vehicle flipped over and landed on top of him. The driver of the second car suffered minor injuries and was treated at Antelope Valley Hospital.
The name of the victim was not released pending notification of relatives.
