Gunman Wounds Man in Attempted Robbery
A Sun Valley man was critically wounded Saturday during an attempted robbery in Burbank, police said.
Dennis Charles McPhee, 45, was shot at 3:10 a.m. in a parking lot at Pass Avenue and Riverside Drive after he refused the demands of a man who ordered him to give up his wallet and car keys, Lt. Gordon Bowers of the Burbank Police Department said.
The attacker and a female companion then fled, Bowers said.
McPhee walked a block before collapsing. He was found by a Burbank police officer about five minutes later and taken to a nearby hospital.
