Calling all Jennifers, Jasons, Justins, Jareds, Jessicas and Jeremys (was there a law passed a few years back that all children under 4 had to have names starting with J?): Start training for the Diaper Dash, the big event next Saturday at St. Monica’s 1990 Oktoberfest.

Outgrown your diapers, you say? Don’t despair, there are athletic events for former children too: a 5-K and 10-K run and an arm-wrestling tournament.

And for traditionalists who think Oktoberfest should be spent eating and drinking, there will be plenty to choose from during the weekend-long festival on the church grounds at 725 California Ave., Santa Monica. Carnival rides, arts and crafts, and live music will be offered throughout the weekend. On Saturday, local restaurants will serve up a Taste of Santa Monica.

Hours for the festival are 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Admission to the festival is $1 for adults and 75 cents for senior citizens. Children get in free. There are additional entry fees for the diaper dash, 5-K and 10-K runs and other events. All proceeds will benefit St. Monica’s schools and parish programs. For information, call (213) 458-6168.
