Share

A man constructing a house in Santa Paula stopped a burglary at the residence next door, police said Monday.

Warren Grey, 48, of Santa Paula was working on his house in the 600 block of Peck Road about 1 p.m. Sunday when he noticed a man cutting out the front screen door of the adjacent house, which belongs to his parents, Howard and Lucille Sparkman, Santa Paula Police Cmdr. Bob Gonzales said.

Grey watched for several minutes from his vantage point on his lot, which is uphill from his parents’ house, Gonzales said.
