Countywide : Supervisors Delay Well Reactivation
The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday postponed hearing a plan to reactivate a well at the Ventura County Government Center to water the 46 acres of landscaping there.
The supervisors are considering the plan to meet water restrictions set up by the city of Ventura because of the drought. During the summer, the county exceeded its water allotment by almost 2 million gallons because of watering at the center.
The well would provide 2.6 million gallons of non-drinkable water each month for irrigation. The proposal was delayed at the request of Supervisor John Flynn, who wanted more time to study the plan.
