Westminster Man Shot by Attacker Outside His Home

A man was shot and slightly wounded Friday night by one of two men who accosted the victim and his wife while they were parking their car at home.

Sinh Ngoc Vu, 41, was shot once in the right knee shortly after 7:30 p.m.

The two assailants then fled without demanding or taking any property, Police Lt. Andrew Hall said.

Vu and his wife were driving their car into their garage when the two men approached them and demanded that Vu get out of the car. When he didn’t respond immediately, Hall said, one of the men opened the car door and shot him in the knee.

Hall said Vu heard one man say, “Kill him,” as the two fled. They drove off in a white 1986 Honda Civic with a blue stripe.

Vu was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center, where he was treated and released. His wife, who was not identified, was not harmed, Hall said.
