Johnny Most, Veteran Voice of Celtics, Retires

BOSTON —
Veteran radio announcer Johnny Most, whose gravelly voice became a legend to generations of Boston Celtics fans, has retired from the broadcast booth.
Most, who called the play-by-play for 37 seasons from “high above courtside” in Boston Garden, said he would forgo a 38th year due to ill health. He underwent a triple bypass operation last year.
