An Azusa man who allegedly led police on a four-mile chase in a stolen pickup truck Monday eventually fled on foot--carrying his 11-month-old daughter in his arms, authorities said. Police finally caught the man, and the baby suffered minor injuries.

Manuel Chavira and a companion, Lindero Camerena, both 21, were booked on suspicion of grand theft, evading police and child endangerment.

Police saw Chavira and Camerena driving the stolen truck in Azusa. They sped away, leading police on a chase over city streets until the truck crashed into a fire hydrant in Duarte, Azusa Police Sgt. Pat Doyle said.
