San Diego State defeated Loyola Marymount, 15-10, 15-12, 15-5 at SDSU. Angela Martin led the Aztecs (12-7) with 13 kills and Kim Lester added 11. Martin also had one dig. LMU is 10-10.

MEN’S SOCCER

SDSU tied The Master’s, 0-0, in double overtime. This was SDSU’s fifth shutout and the fourth for goalkeeper Curtis McAlister. SDSU is 7-4-2.

HOCKEY

Left-wing Clark Donatelli and center Darcy Norton were added to the San Diego Gulls roster, Genernal Manager Don Waddell announced. Both players, who were obtained from Kalamazoo, the Minnesota North Stars’ top farm team, arrived Tuesday and are questionable for tonight’s game in Salt Lake but will be ready to play when Fort Wayne visits the Gulls Friday and Saturday nights.

Norton scored 22 goals and had 25 assists in 66 games last season. Donatelli scored eight goals and had nine assists in 27 games with Kalamazoo and had three goals and three assists in 25 games with the North Stars.

BASKETBALL

Demetrius Laffitte, former USIU and Monte Vista player, has signed a contract to play basketball professionally in Argentina. Laffitte, who will begin playing for San Jorge Athletico later this month, is the only American on the roster.

Last season at USIU, Laffitte (6-6, 215) averaged 18.8 points and 10.3 rebounds a game. Laffitte finished his career as USIU’s fourth-leading scorer (1,026) and second-leading rebounder (568).
