After spending more than $1,000 on his City Council campaign, candidate Rand Hogan still has more cash on hand than most of his opponents have in total contributions, according to campaign contribution statements.

Hogan has received $2,954 in contributions, including $999 from his wife, Leslie P. Hogan, and $687 in copying and related services from his employer, Boise Cascade Office Products in Rancho Dominguez. To date, Hogan has spent $1,062 and has $1,205 cash on hand.

Candidate Harry Dotson has raised $1,878 and spent $1,027. His largest single contributor was his wife, Natalie G. Dotson, who provided $490. He has also received $1,188 in contributions of less than $100.

The three remaining candidates have each received less than $1,100 in contributions, the documents show.

Joe V. Harris has raised $1,017 and spent $815. He loaned himself $1,000 for the campaign.

Incumbent Mayor Edward L. Allen has filed a statement saying that he will not spend more than $1,000 on his campaign. And candidate Don Martinez’s campaign is powered solely by a $500 loan to himself, although he has spent no money yet.

The candidates are seeking to fill three council seats in the Nov. 6 election.
