The driver of the patrol car, Deputy Frank Purcell, was treated at Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center for a broken arm and a cut lip, Deputy Brenda Hill said. Purcell was on routine patrol when the accident occurred.

Ken Roseander, who was driving the Department of Public Works water truck, was taken by helicopter to the same hospital, where he was treated for a broken leg and a cut under his nose, Hill said.
